Autumn possesses
its own spring
which, when sprung,
releases
from their tight
confinement
chestnuts, fungi,
djinn.

what a lovely gift today – when I am feeling my fear of what lies ahead in the Fall and Winter….thank you, John.

Hi John,
I like your autumn poem. Short it may be, but with its novel slant, combined with the supernaturally ugly fungus pictured – a djinn, maybe? – it spurs us to closer observation and fuller appreciation of the season.
Take care,
Paul

That’s good of you Paul, thank you. The fungus is still there, in our garden, and actually looking a great deal uglier now!

I love this, John; closing with that exotic ‘djinn’ is a lovely contrast with the chunky English words and adds something mystical and unexpected.
